DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
Herr-114 and Herr-1334 appear to represent the same person because: I believe these are the same people. Profile Herr-1334 died in 1773 and cites the source: "Genealogical record of Reverend Hans Herr and his direct lineal descendants" In that book, there is only one John Herr that died in 1773. This is Herr #16 which is the same Herr cited by profile Herr-114.
