Will

When John Hare signed his will on 3 May 1773, he was living in Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The will was proved on 19 October 1773. He named: [2]

  • His wife Anna—the use of the 118-acre plantation where they were living
  • His children:
    • John Hare
    • Christina Hare, wife of John Hare, junior
    • Abraham Hare—he had already received a mill and land in Strasburg Township
    • Christian Hare—the 106-acre plantation "whereon he now liveth it being the New Place on the southerly part of my plantation."
    • Benjamin Hare—he had already received land in Lampeter Township
    • David Hare—"the plantation where on I now live" containing 118 acres, after the decease of Anna
  • Executors: His wife Anna, his son John Hare, and his son-in-law John Hare.
  • Witnesses: Everard Gurber, Abraham Herr, and Martin Mÿlin.

Herr-114 and Herr-1334 appear to represent the same person because: I believe these are the same people. Profile Herr-1334 died in 1773 and cites the source: "Genealogical record of Reverend Hans Herr and his direct lineal descendants" In that book, there is only one John Herr that died in 1773. This is Herr #16 which is the same Herr cited by profile Herr-114.
