11 December 1908: Jesse Brechtel and Alma Estella Herrmann were married.

Alma was pregnant before she married and had her daughter "Huldah" before she was married to Jesse. Jesse was Huldah's father.

Alma's husband, Jesse was mean to her. The family did not approve of him, however, Alma got pregnant before marriage and married Jesse anyway. One month later their first child was born. Jesse isolated Alma from her family and when she was very ill with typhoid fever, her brother, Clarence, insisted on seeing her, and knocking on the door of their home, Jesse did not allow him to come in. Clarence kicked their door in, and pushed Jesse away and shoved his way into her bedroom. He spoke to Alma for a time in her bedroom and seeing that she seemed to be O.K. he left, but not without warning Jesse that he will never keep Clarence from seeing his sister again. Alma died from the typhoid fever shortly after that. Jesse never kept a wife, he was married up to six times before he died in 1958 and was buried with his last wife, Marie.
