Frank A. Herrmann , 85, of Hampshire, died Monday , February 3 , in St . Joseph's hospital , Elgin , where he was a patient since the previous Wednesday . He was born April 1, 1872 , in Alsace , Lorraine , and came to the United States in 1883 , settling with his parents , the late Joseph and Katherine Wasser Herrmann , in Marengo . On February 21 ,1900 he married Sallie Seisser and they farmed in the Hampshire area until his retirement in 1945 , when he moved to the present home in Hampshire . Surviving besides the widow are five daughters , Mrs . Alfred ( Rose ) Conro , Mrs . Earl ( Martha ) Barry and Mrs . Donald ( Eleanor ) Conro , all of Genoa and Mrs . William ( Delia ) Conro and Mrs . Harlan ( Bertha ) Engel , both of Hampshire ; six sons , Frank of Joliet and John , Harold , Anthony , Clarence and David , all of Hampshire ; 41 grandchildren ; 22 greatgrandchildren ; - a brother , George Herrmann of Burlington ; and three sisters ,, Mrs . Al Lander of Pectonica , Mrs . George Butts Of Beividere and Mrs . Rose Fisher of Indiana. He was preceded in death by a ( daughter Mrs . Virgil ( Lorene ) Beard , a brother , and three sisters.
