Biography

David was born in Pembroke, Massachusetts on January 24, 1721 to David Hersey and Elizabeth Joyce.[1][2]

On May 20, 1743, David married Susanna Ramsden, daughter of Samuel Ramsden[3][2]

In 1763, David and Susanna emigrated to Nova Scotia, and were among the first settlers of Yarmouth Township[4] [5] [6] [2] Their children included:

  1. Elizabeth, baptised 27 April 1751[1] [2]
  2. Mercy, named in her grandfather's will 1759[2]
  3. Daniel[2][6], who married January 5, 1774 Desire Weston
  4. Samuel[2][6], who married April 21, 1774 Lydia Clarke
  5. Martha[2][6], who married January 5, 1774 Joshua Gardner, whose origins are not known. They had 3 daughters, NFIF<
  6. Levi[2] [6], who married March 8, 1780 Chloe Day of St. John, NB and then married Leah Wagner of Bear River
  7. Deborah[2] [6], who married July 4, 1788 Charles O'Neill.

David Hersey passed away before 13 Oct 1797, when his son Levi was appointed administrator of his estate[2]
