William was possibly born in Plymouth Colony in 1635.[1]It is not certain that his parents actually are from Berkshire, England. Please do not change his birth place until it has been completely proven. Just because records match the name of his father it does not mean that it is the same person.
Marriage
He appears to have been married twice. His first wife, whom he married about 1656 or 1657, was Rebecca, daughter of Thomas and Alice Chubbuck. She was baptized in Hingham in Apr 1641, and died 1 June, 1686, about 45 yrs of age. The christian name of his second wife, as appears by his will, was Ruhamah. She was Ruhamah Hallett, the widow of Job Bourne. There is no entry of this marriage, however, nor of her death, on Hingham's records. William died 28 Sept. 1691. In his will, made in 1689, proved 27 Jan. 1691-92, mentions " my now wife Ruhamah," and the four sons whose names appear among his issue. Freeman 1672; constable 1661; selectman 1678, 1682, and 1690. Resided on South, opposite West St.[2]
