Jacob Hess was born on 19 Dec 1786 in Old, Rose, Wexford, Ireland, son of John Hess (~1762 - ) and Unknown Phillippe (~1766 - ).
Jacob married Elizabeth Seebrook (1785 - 1862) Their children were:
- Thomas Hess (1808 - 1883)
- George Hess (1813 - 1836)
- William Hess (~1818 - 1884)
- John Hess (1822 - 1896)
- Charlotte (Hess) Boyd (1823 - 1881)
- Jane Hess (1825 - 1898)
- Mary Hess (1830 - 1842).
Jacob died on 19 Jan 1875 in South Mountain, Dundas County, Ontario aged 88.
