Anna, was the second daughter of Philipp, Landgraf von Hessen, and his first wife, Christine of Saxony, and was born at Kassel 26 October 1529, about 5 o'clock in the morning.
She was betrothed in November 1544 to her second cousin, Wolfgang, Pfalzgraf und Herzog zu Zweibrucken and married 24 February 1545 (by proxy?) and in person (?) at Cassel 8 March 1545. The wedding was celebrated in Zweibrücken on 4 February 1546. He was the son of Ludwig II, Pfalzgraf zu Zweibrücken, and Elisabeth, Landgräfin von Hessen.

Wolfgang died 11 June 1569 at Nessun, near Limoges, and was originally buried in Angouleme. His body was transferred to the Stadtkirche in Meisenheim in 1571. Anna died in Meisenheim 10 July 1591 and was buried there on 26 July 1591.
