He died 10 September 1953 in Tucson, Arizona. [10][11] He is buried in Amanda Township Cemetery in Amanda, Ohio.[12]

Gerald Bruce Hewetson, 54, formerly of Marion, died Thursday in a hospital in Tucson, Ariz. Ill several years, he lived the last three years in Tucson. His former address in Marion was 285 Kensington Place.
Born May 5, 1899 at Amanda, O, he was the son of Thomas L and Ora B Hewetson, May 6 1928, he married Cara Blyss Metz of LaRue. Coming to Marion in 1920 from Lancaster, when the Fairfield Engineering Co. located here, he held a responsible position with the company until he was forced to retire because of ill health. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marion.
Surviving are his widow, his parents, who live in Lancaster, and a daughter, Mrs Leo M Brandt, and a grandson, of Tucson, and sisters and brother, Mrs Alice Thomas and Mrs Elizabeth Hutchins, of Columbus, Mrs Esther Turner of Lancaster, and Dr Tom Hewetson of Pomeroy. A sister preceded him in death.
