Thomas Hewitt was b. May 2, 1659 to Thomas Hewitt and Hannah Palmer. He "m. Lydia Utley on 30 May 1683 at Scituate, Massachusetts[1]. He d. June 3, 1686. First Child: Lydia Hewitt, b. 25 June 1684,[1], bp. 20 June 1686;[2] may have died young. Second child: Thomas Hewitt, b. Feb. 3, 1685, m. Perces Cleveland."[3]

Thomas and Lydia resided in Stonington, Connecticut. On 14 May 1679 he sold to Isaac Wheeler “lands granted to my honored father Thomas Hewitt and given to me by will. His father’s will apparently did not survive but it is interesting to note that the son was only a minor of 19 years old at the time of the land sale.[1]

Birth

Thomas was born on 2 May1659 just 6 days after his parents' marriage on 26 April 1659. Both events are recorded on page 34 of Thomas Minor's diary so there can be no question about it: "1659, The second month is Aprile...sister hanna was maried ye 27...The third month is may...the 2 of may being monday Hanah had a son." Thomas Minor was Hannah's brother-in-law. [4]

Hewitt-1598 and Hewitt-495 appear to represent the same person because: they are the same in every way.
