Enos Hiatt was born on November 22, 1838 in Guilford County, North Carolina, son of Larenzo Hiatt and Huldah Hedgecock[1]. He married Hannah Hayworth in 1859[2] and according to Hannah’s cemetery records, they had 5 children[3]. In 1863, Enos registered for the Civil War[4] and subsequently served as a Private in the Union's 13th Regiment, Iowa Infantry[5].
In 1868 after Hannah's death, Enos married Elizabeth Boyer[6] and according to Elizabeth’s cemetery records, they had 3 children[7]. Enos died of a cerebral hemorrhage on June 09, 1927 and is buried with Elizabeth in Moravia Cemetery, Appanoose County, Iowa[8].
