Paul Hiatt died in the blast from the eruption of Mount Saint Helens on 18 May 1980
  • died in the blast from the eruption of Mount Saint Helens in 1980. Is included on the memorial, dedicated in 2000, for the known victims of the blast.[1]
  • There is some confusion about who Paul was or whether or not he was really missing on the mountain. An article from the time relates that there was a man of the same name visiting the mountain a week before. Additionally, that the caller who reported Paul Hiatt missing could not be identified. This may be an erroneous entry, but no one is certain.[2]
