Death of Mr. John Hibbard.
We have to record the death of Mr. John Hibbard, which occurred at his residence, Gladstone, on Tuesday morning. Mr. Hibbard some weeks ago contracted blood poisoning in the legs, and for some time has been in a very critical condition. A few days ago he took a severe cold which also tended to increase his sufferings and bring about complications to which he succumbed. The deceased was well known and respected throughout the Macleay district. He was born in Sydney, although he (together with other members of the family) has been identified with the Macleay nearly all his life, having carried on a store at Gladstone for many years. Mr. Hibbard was only 56 years of age, and he leaves a wife and six children, for whom much sympathy is felt in their great loss. The funeral took place at Frederickton cemetery on Wednesday morning.[1]
