Biography

Lycurgus C. Hickey was born in Tennessee on March 11, 1850 to Elijah Hickey and Sarah (Sallie) Saylors.

He was a farmer and married to a woman named Finey Coralin, with whom census records show he had five children: James M. (1873), Sarah D. (1875), Mary S. (1877), Elijah J. (1879), and Amanda (1892). He was a widower by the 1910 census.

He died August 15, 1931, in Baxter, Putnam, Tennessee of Nephritis, and was buried in Boiling Springs Cemetery in that town.
