Biography

Birth: Oct. 21, 1777 Death: Apr. 6, 1853

Daughter of Capt. Poole Hickman England, 47th Regiment of Foot. Sister of Mary Hickman England, who married Thomas Richard Fuller. Granddaughter of Richard Hickman England of Lifford, County Clare, Ireland.

Married (firstly) ca. 1810 to Maj. Gen. the Hon. Aeneas Shaw (1740 - 1814) whose first wife, Ann (Gosline) Shaw, died in 1808. By his first wife Shaw had 13 children. Aeneas Shaw and Margaret Hickman had no children.

Aeneas Shaw died 6 February 1814.

Margaret (Hickman England) Shaw married (secondly) ca. 1818 to the Rev. William Leeming (1787 - 1863).

Margaret (Hickman England) Shaw Leeming died 6 April 1853 and was buried on the grounds of Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Her gravestone is next to that of Rev. Leeming, who died ten years later, on 1 June 1863.
