Note N679She was the daughter of middle Tennessee Irish politicians. Republicans of the Lincoln era. All her uncles fought for the South so I'm not sure how they got to be Republicans. And Granny, as you well know, was the master politician in her own right. (comments from her grandson, John Bennett BOYKIN.).
