Biography

Sarah White was born about 1814. In 1841 she was newly married and living with her husband at Hill Farm, Warden. The household included 3 other people; Thomas Street (65) of Bedford, Samuel Wilshire (25) of Bedford and Jane Darlin (20). In 1851 she lived on a farm in Warden with her husband, 5 children, sister in law Ann and mother Ann Hickman. She had 4 servants; Mary Flinders (62) of Gr Gransden, Hannah Ellwood (19) of Gr Gransden, John Roberts (44) of Warden and John Robinson (18) of Warden. In 1861 she was still farming in Old Warden. She lived with her husband, 6 children, her mother and 2 servants; John Weatley (50) of Warden and Sarah Desborough (20) of Edworth. . In 1871 she was living on a farm in Warden with her husband, 2 children, sister in law Ann and 3 servants; Ann Shelton (19) of Northill, William Course (45) of Northill and George Clayton (14) of Warden. In 1881 she was living on a farm in Biggleswade with her husband, daughter, grandson Original Heading Mackness aged 4 of Littleworth, Leicestershire and a servant Martha Goff (78) of Cranfield, Bedford.
