Thomas Hicks was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Thomas Hicks, son of Thomas Henry Hicks and Ellen Pike, was born in 1889, at Corop, Victoria. ^[1]

In 1913 Thomas married Ruby Lavinia Sheppard. ^[2] Their wedding was reported in The Ararat Advertiser and Chronicle for the Stawell and Wimmera Districts (Vic. : 1899 - 1918) Thu 16 Oct 1913 Page 3 ^[3]

HICKS—SHEPPARD.

A pretty wedding was celebrated at Holy Trinity, Church, Ararat, yesterday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of the fair sex. The contracting parties were Miss Ruby Sheppard, daughter of Mr W. Sheppard of Ararat and Mr Thomas Hicks, of Warracknabeal. The ceremony was performed by the Rev L. M. Gorrie. The bride, who was given away, by her father, was handsomely attired, and was attended by two bridesmaids- Miss Hicks (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Florrie Sheppard, sister of the bride.
