Biography

James Madison "Matt" Hicks was born 5 December 1869 (according to death record)^[1] in Hopkins County, Kentucky.^[2] He was the son of James Hicks and Mary (Parish) Hicks.^[1]

He was married about 1897 to Maggie Ruth Dorris and they had a daughter, Grace Belle Hicks.

James, age 73, died 12 April 1943 in Hopkins County and was buried at New Beulah Cemetery, Beulah, Hopkins County, Kentucky.^{[1] [2]}
