Jesse Stroud and family were in Dickson County,Tennessee, by 1809 per deed from Howel Adams to Jesse Stroud, Dickson County Deed Book C, p. 21.^[1] Tabitha Stroud, Jesse's second wife, was living with her married daughter Margaret Shelton and family in 1850 in Obion County, Tennessee. Her birth year was listed as 1786, birth place unknown.^[2] Tabitha J. Stroud died after December 1852 when a court petition of her and her children divided their inherited land given to them by her husband, Jesse Stroud, in his will of 1834.^[3]
