Biography
Samuel Hicks was born on June 10, 1726 in Swansea, Bristol, Province of Massachusetts Bay, son of Joseph Hicks (1702–~1746) and Patience Wheaton (1698–>1736).
His siblings were:
- Elizabeth Hix (1722–<1755)
- Patience Hicks (1723–1790)
Samuel (19) married Thankful Bowen (19) (born on April 4, 1727 in Barrington, Massachusetts; daughter of Josiah Bowen and Margaret (Child) Bowen) on May 26, 1746 in Swansea.[1] [2] [3] Their known children were:
- Samuel Hicks (1747–1835)
- Josiah Hicks (1749–1799)
- Elizabeth Hicks (1751–1823)
- Rebecca Hicks (1755–>1848)
- Ambrose Hicks (1757– )
- Mary Hicks (1759– )
- Ira Hicks (1761–~1830)
- Jesse Hicks (1767– )
Samuel died on May 29, 1776 in Sackville, Westmorland, New Brunswick, aged 49. He was buried in Four Corners Burying Ground, Upper Sackville, Westmorland County, New Brunswick.[4]
