Ephraim was born before 1665.
[1]
He passed away after 1737.
[2]
Most records list Hannah Wells as his wife; the couple was married in 1712. While that may be a fact, she could not have been the mother of his children born prior to 1700. I have not yet been able to track down the name of his first wife.[3]
Note that this surname is routinely spelled as Hicks and Hix.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ephraim by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ephraim:
Hix-180 and Hicks-7563 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicates. The image shown on the profile of Hicks-7563 shows the spelling of the LNAB was "Hicke". This is not a typical spelling of the family name, and Wikitree does allow deviating from a spelling that is extremely unusual. But it is closer to "Hicks" than "Hix", and maybe even is a mis-transcription of "Hicks", so Hicks seems to be the best proxy for this particular LNAB spelling.
