Biography
Martha Ann Hicks was born about 1855, likely in Salisbury, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of Amos Hicks and Jane Cochran.
Possibly called Mertilla Anne. That could be a transcription error of Martha. The 1861 census clearly says Martha Ann.
