Christina Hieb was born sometime in 1849 in the village of Neudorf in the Glückstal district of the Odessa area and Black Sea region of South Russia. Her parents were Wilhelm Adam Hieb and Margaretha (Kapp) Hieb.
On October 22, 1867, at the age of 18, Christina married Gottlieb Krein (1846-unknown).
