Georg Jacob was born on May 14, 1776 in the village of Heuchelheim in the district of Bergzabern in Bayern(Germany) to Johann Adam Hieb and Sibilla (Schwartz) Hieb. He was the third of their 10 children.[1]

On October 9, 1796, at the age of 20, Georg Jacob married Anna Maria Hergoin(?).[2]

  1. Maria Eva (1797-Unknown)[3]

In addition, there appears to be a marriage to someone named Barbara?[4]See Research note.

Sometime between 1808 and 1812, around the age of 32-36, Georg Jacob migrated from Heuchelheim to the village of Neudorf in the Glückstal district of the Odessa area and Black Sea region of South Russia

On September 11, 1852, at the age of 76, Georg Jacob passed away in Neudorf.[5]

Research Notes

There is some confusion in the records distinguishing Georg Jacob from his older brother Johann Jacob born 4 years earlier. The Points of Origin listing[6] references the 1816 neudorf census listing (family #29) and the 1858 Neudorf census listing (family #144) as associated with Johann Jacob, but the ages in those census records are a better match to Georg Jacob. No marriage record to someone named Barbara can be found for either person.
