Konrad was born on October 17, 1804 in the village of Heuchelheim in the district of Bergzabern in Bayern(Germany) to Balthasar Hieb and Barbara (Kirsch) Hieb. He was the second of his father's 8 children and the second of his mother's 3 children. Konrad was baptized on October 21, 1804.[1]
