According to a book being comprised only of the Hiestand Family Line, Hiestand-Hof, by Kent D.Hiestand, his records and documentation show that Ulrich, Hans Ulrich Hiestand, was actually born in 1638 on his fathers farm, in Hinter Schonau. And that he died at the same place, on 10/29/1697.However, the listing, story,whatever, is not showing that documentation, his fathers name, etc. A lot of the other information is showing to be correct concerning other Hiestand family members, dates, spouses,etc. But until I find such record that disputes his death as being 1717, I will leave it alone.
