Lou Jane Starks, 79, of Texarkana, AR passed away February 2, 2012 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Starks was born July 1, 1932 in Texarkana, AR. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, AR; North Heights Alumni Association; and National Daylily Association. Survivors include her husband, Charlie Starks of Texarkana, AR; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Vicky Starks of Texarkana; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Johna and Jason Orr of Searcy, AR and Jamie and Josh Newberry of Fayetteville, AR; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Cullen and Callie Starks of Texarkana; brother and sister-in-law, Rufus and Mary Helen Higginbotham of Little Rock, AR; special friends, John and Rene Harmon of Palestine, TX and Mary Whidden of Texarkana; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, February 6, 2012 at East Memorial Chapel \endash Downtown with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home \endash Downtown. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, AR; Watersprings Ranch; or Dierkson Hospice.
