Biography
According to the 1871 Census, Emily Higgins was born at Wem, Shropshire, around 1864. She married Richard Roberts at St. Matthew, Liverpool, Lancashire, on 6 June 1881. Her father was Thomas Higgins. Emily and Richard Roberts's son Thomas Roberts was born at Horwich, Lancashire, in 1892. The 1901 Census confirms Emily Roberts's birthplace as Wem and shows the couple living at Horwich.
