Biography

Frederick HIGGINS was buried at Whittingham cemetery aged 79 years. He was a farmer and contractor residing at Falbrook, Bridgman then George St Singleton.

  • DEATH OP MR FREDERICK HIGGINS. Mr Frederick Higgins, who passed away on Tuesday evening last at the residence of his daughter Mrs. Wm. Gardiner, of Punchbowl, was a well-known and highly respected resident of Singleton for 34 years. The deceased had been ill for only a day or two, and his death was sudden and unexpected. He was 79 years of age and a native of Glennie's. Creek; In his early life he was a contractor, and both in business and private life the deceased was a man of upright character and sterling integrity. Two years ago he left Singleton to live with a daughter, Mrs P. Miller, of Concord, and it was while visiting Mrs Gardiner that, his death occurred. His Wife died eight years ago and one son and daughter also predeceased him. The family surviving are: Mr Arthur Higgins (Grafton), Mrs W. Gardiner (Punchbowl), Mrs J. Maloney (Perth), Miss Higgins (Concord), Mrs P. Miller (Concord), and Mis W. M. York (Singleton). The remains wore brought to Singleton on Thursday and the interment took place at the Church of England cemetery at Whittingham the same afternoon.
