Joyce Ann (Winegar) Perry, 58, died June 18, 2003, at her rural Ellensburg home. She was born Oct. 4, 1944, in Sullivan County, Tenn., the daughter of Cecil and Opal (Higgins) Winegar. She came to the Kittitas Valley in 1980. She was actively engaged in the family business with her husband, Bob Perry, including the Texaco service station formerly located at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Main Street, and more recently the U-Haul Company on West Tacoma Street and Independent Auto. She was preceded in death by her mother; sister, Betty Bowen; stepbrothers, Frank and James Winegar. She is survived by her husband, Bob of Ellensburg; son, Steven Alvis; grandchildren, Casey and Tyler Alvis of Kingsport, Tenn.,; father, Cecil Winegar of Church Hill, Tenn.; sister, Helen Kernoul of Ventura, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews and stepchildren; and cousin, Jim Winegar of Ellensburg. Inurnment will be in the family plot at Thorp Cemetery with family services planned for a later date. Arrangements by Affordable Funeral Care.
