Biography

Gertrude was born in 1895 in Rolland, Manitoba to parents Arthur Fenwick Higgins (born Nova Scotia) and Jessie Ferguson (born Ontario).

By 1916 she is living in Winnipeg with her family and is a school teacher.

She is still teaching and living at home with her parents and siblings in 1921 in Winnipeg. Her father is a machinist.

in 1926 she married Thorne Shaw in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In July 1947 she is still married and living in Russell, Man. but crosses into Detroit to visit her daughter Marjorie (born in Winnipeg Dec., 16, 1935) for a week.

She died in Saanichton, British Columbia (just north of Victoria on Vancouver Island) April 25, 1982.^[1]
