Biography

Mary was born in 1851 in Mudford, Somerset.^[1] She is the daughter of John Higgins and Sarah Applebe.

She was recorded in her parent's household in Mudford in the both the 1851 and 1861 Censuses.^[2][3]

Her father passed away in 1870 and in the 1871 Census Mary was living, still in Mudford, with her mother and a lodger. She was working as a glover.^[4]

In 1881 Mary was the head of her household, living alone with a lodger, Henry Saunders.

Married in 1881 in Yeovil district. Either Felix Abbott or Henry Saunders but I cannot trace her after that.^[5]

She married her lodger Henry later in 1881.^[6]

Neither Mary nor Henry have been traced after this point, and in fact Henry can't be located in any earlier Census.
