Amy Gertrude Higgins was born 21 December 1899[1] in Chatham, Kent and christened on 16 March 1900 at Christ Church, Luton in Chatham[2]. She was the daughter of Frederick Higgins (1873-1940) and Catherine Harriet Hubbard (1876-1958).

  • Amy was born and brought up at 21 Chatham Hill in Chatham, Kent until about 1903[2].
