DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

The date given for a marriage in 1795 is supposedly from a collection "Virginia Marriages 1851-1929." No record for 1795 exists in that collection. There is a record in "Virginia Marriages 1785-1940" for John Higgins, but it is for 1798 with a bride of Hannah Buffington. I can find no record source in Ancestry.com or FamilySearch.org that shows a record for Fannie Bauguess and John Higgins.

Higgins-2927 and Higgins-741 appear to represent the same person because: The research of Lynden Rodriquez in the Higgins-2927 record is good. Same person, same parents, etc.

Thank you

James Higgins, father of John Henry Higgins was born in Caroline, VA. His son, John Henry, is listed as being born in Kent, England. This does not make sense to me.

My ggg grandfather, Thomas Higgins, was the son of John Higgins and Fannie Bauguess. I have info on him. Judy Higgins Lewis [email address removed]
