John was born about 1778. In 1800 he married Ann Sankey in Warrington, Lancashire. Records viewed to date do not name the parents of the bride or groom, hence the earlier generations are currently not certain . Records indicate John and Ann had at least two children before Ann passed away in March 1805. The John Higham name appears in the 1841 and 1851 census records with possible second wife Martha Waywell (married 1823?), also a John Higham married an Ellen Singleton in 1805 in Winwick, Lancashire. It is uncertain whether either of these is the same John Higham. Further research is required.[2]
Men born with the name John Higham are numerous in Lancashire around this time and it is not possible to say with certainty which of the many possible christenings is his.Hardman-1532 14:48, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
