I am a native of the United States (San Antonio, Texas). I settled in Augusta, GA during my teen years with the retirement of my father from the United States Air Force. I have always been interested in knowing as much as I could about my family history. My interest began in my youth but grew in the late 90s. I have been researching my family since that time with vigor with my latest area of interest being DNA testing.

I absolutely love meeting new family members so much that I began last year doing a Hightower mini meet and greet in areas where I know my family has migrated. In 2012 the meet and greet was in Columbia, SC; in 2013 I had a meet and greet in Atlanta, GA on 5-18-13 and Charlotte, NC on 6-14-13. This year I have held several meet and greets in Johnston, SC, Greenwood, SC and Columbia, SC.

Hi!

How's everything going? You might be finding duplicate profiles now. We have a Help Page to help you learn what to do with them. Be sure to check for your pending merges by going to FIND, PENDING MERGES, and sort for those waiting on you. Upon completing a merge, be sure to clean up/edit the Biography as ALL information from both profiles are copied and remove any duplicate info.

If you want updates on surnames you can add them by going to MY WIKITREE, NAV HOME PAGE, scroll down to just below WIKI GENEALOGY FEED to EDIT FOLLOWED SURNAMES. You can add up to 20.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those situations.

Hello,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having. How is your experience with Wikitree going? Our G2G Forum is searchable or you can post a question there.

The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

P.S. I see that you uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop-down menu, and then click the link to the DNA project. In addition to information that may be of interest to you, the project page has a list of members you can contact if you would like additional details.

Hi again!

I’m glad you found us. I just confirmed you as a member (once you sign the Honor Code, you’ll be a full member – aka a Wiki Genealogist). An important aspect of WikiTree is providing sources for information (even if it’s just “Aunt Louisa told me in 1984...”) – my profile page has a link to Sources Resources, where I’ve tried to provide an overview of source information.

Give G2G or me a holler if you get stuck on anything, and thank you for joining our collaborative tree. Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.

Enjoy!

Interested in Moss, Butler, Borum and Hightower informaton and family connections.
Welcome Sheila!

As a guest, you can search for your ancestors and participate in G2G, where you can ask questions that you didn't find an answer to in WikiTree Help (see the “Help” drop-down menu at upper right–for additional links that may be of use, please click my name and check out the links I list under my "Greeter" section–especially the Sources links and the links to my fellow greeters Debby and Maggie, who also have helpful information on their profile pages).

If you would like to join WikiTree, and help with our mission of one tree, please read the Honor Code, volunteer, and post a comment on your profile page; we'll be glad to add you to the WikiTree community.

Happy Hunting!
