When I began this journey I read an article that said these Higginbotham's are just a mess...

Yes, we are! Hope to find the right branch. It seems to get confused at my 3rd great grandfather , John Jacob Higinbotham not John W. that is listed on findagrave. There is Published piece on Google by the Gaymen family with most decendants of John Jacob and Sarah Ann Gayman. (www.GAYMANFAMILY.COM) More confusion after 1755, George Washington Higginbotham and Elizabeth Kennedy, my 5th great grandparents. ANY HELP is much appreciated! Thank you all for work that has been done!

Bio: New to ancestary but very interested in it. I like reading the stories and the way they lived then. I would like my grand children to know the family history. Most of the kids remember Grandpa Higgin, he was the best. A smile and jokes for everyone. My Grandfather was Ralph Julius Higinbotham . Known to most as Higgin. (m.Georgia Virginia Quarry). Ralph had 4 sisters, 2 brothers, 3 sons and 1 daughter. His father was John Edwin Higinbotham. From Maryland, Indiana, Ohio, Kansas, & Oklahoma. I don't have all my dates just yet for everyone, still trying to sort out the Higginbothams. To add to the confusion my 3rd Gr.Grandfather dropped a "g" in our last name. I'm adding the family we are sure about from Grandma Georgie. She kept records of the family & handed them down to my Mom. Dad has not received his DNA results and may have to do test again. George Washington Higginbotham is a favorite I believe! I'm not sure I have his brothers and sisters correct but hope to learn more. I haven't found much info on his wife, Wealthy Ann Wynes, or Wynns, (b.1798) except census with George. I am hoping to find a relative of hers. She would be my 4th great Grandmother. Married to George (b.1790).
