John was born on June 28, 1854 in Moniteau County, Missouri and a son of Joel Hill and Mary Smith. He passed away, at the age nine years. on February 28, 1863 and is buried in the Sappington Community Chapel Cemetery, south of California, Moniteau County, Missouri.[1]
