Hi!

This is Chris from the Italy Project. As part of the annual project check-in, can you fill in the project survey? This will let us know that you are still interested in the project and which teams you'd like to participate in.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Melissa,

I have just run your kit against my father’s (SS2203776). There are a handful of co-matches with other kit holders. When I run the one-to-one, these are the results:

Chr B37 Start Pos'n B37 End Pos'n Centimorgans (cM) SNPs

2 129,981,872 133,141,965 4.3 234

2 218,458,029 220,635,070 3.8 299

6 137,692,864 138,933,559 3.1 277

11 7,498,835 9,372,626 3 392

17 13,945,802 14,619,091 3.8 209

21 42,386,674 43,058,400 3.2 202

Largest segment = 4.3 cM Total Half-Match segments (HIR) 21.1cM (0.589 Pct) 6 shared segments found for this comparison. 411999 SNPs used for this comparison. 52.048 Pct SNPs are full identical

My 3rd Great Grandfather, Francis Hill (Bootmaker), and children Francis Charles Hill (my 2nd GG), and Isabella Hill were all born in Dublin. They migrated to Liverpool 1849 leaving extended family behind, descendants of whom were still there at least to the 1930s. My 4th GG’s name is Charles and he was a cabinet maker, but I know nothing else about him.

I believe your Dublin Hills and mine must be connected. I am in the process of working through my GEDcompare. Meanwhile, please feel free to contact me to discuss further.

Thanks! -M. Hill

Ciao! This is just a general check-in for members of the Italy project. I am checking to see who is still interested in being a member of the project as we go through some much needed restructuring. I was also wondering what teams you would like to be on. We’ve created teams for each part of Italy. North, South, Islands etc. They will be explained further in an upcoming g2g post. Stay tuned. For now, please let me know if you are still interested in the project and if you’d like to be a member of a team.

Hi Melissa,

The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details. The Teams are :-

1. Categories Team
2. Counties Team
3. Managed Profiles Team
4. Membership Team
5. Profile Improvement Team
6. Topics Team
7. Diaspora

? Can you let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project and which team(s) you’d like to join. Please also let me know your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group or confirm you are already a member of the google group.

Many thanks,

Maria

Hi Melissa

It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Acadia Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.

We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.

If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.

Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

Karen ~ Volunteer Coordinator

Hi Melissa,

On behalf of the Acadians Project Leaders, we are doing a six-month check-in with members. Please let us know if you are still active. If you are active, please let us know in which ways you are currently contributing to the project.

All of us at WikiTree would like to thank you for your contributions and hope that you are enjoying exploring your roots.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Karen ~ Volunteer Coordinator

Hello, just a word (late) to congratulate you on the contributions you made during the month of November. Whatever the quantity, they are all important.

Your work is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Melissa,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Melissa ---

Hello and welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to become a member of WikiTree. Just add a Tag for each family name or place you are researching. Then click the “Post Tags and Volunteer” button. One of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

WikiTree is an exciting and growing community and we are really glad you decided to join us.

Shirley
