I was born and raised in Ponca City, Kay Co, OK. I graduated from Ponca City High School in 1959.
While growing up I was a Blue Bird, and later a Camp Fire Girl. I attended, and most of my time was spent, at the First Baptist Church. Sunday School, Training Union, GA, and choir took much of my time. I also was a member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls. I was leader of that organization for one year. When, 18 years old, I joined the Order of Eastern Star. I am a 50 year member.
After Gradating high school, I attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College for two years and received my AA degree. I then Attended Oklaoma State University, majoring in Secondary Education. I graduated in 1963.
For three summers, during college, I was a camp counselor at Camp McFadden, a camp for Camp Fire Girls.
Following college, and for the next 39 years, I taught school in Comanche, Oklahoma. I taught social studies in Middle School. I retired in 2002.
I am enjoying life after retirement. I am active in the Methodist Church, the Huguonot Society, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. My hobby is genealogy.
