Biography
Ruby (Hill) Chance was born in Worcestershire, England.
Ruby Cecilia was born to George Hill and Ann Brace in 1866 in Old Swinford, Worcestershire.[1] She was baptised on 4th October 1866 at Old Swinford.[2]
In 1871, Ruby is enumerated as Rebecca and the family has recently moved to Kingswinford, Staffordshire. Her father is a labourer.

In 1888 Ruby married Albert Chance in Stourbridge.[5] Some online trees indicate that she was married in St Mark's Church, Stamberwell, although this is yet to be verified.
By 1891 two sons have been born, and Ruby's family lives two houses away from her mother and her younger siblings.
