Biography

Nathaniel^ Hill [Jonathan,'^ John^), born in Dorchester, May 7, 1676, moved to Bridgewater with his parents, about 1679, where he afterwards resided, inheriting his father's homestead. Mar. 12, 1729-30, he conveyed land in Dighton, which is the last record found of him ; and he died probably within a year after this date. (Bristol Co. Deeds.) In deeds he is styled husbandman ; and there is no record of the settlement of his estate. He married, May 30, 1710, Hannah, born in Beverly, Jan. 25, 1683-4, daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah (Mansfield) Conant, of Beverly and Bridgewater. .Children : David b. Dec. 12, 1712. Abijah, b. Dec. 23, 1714. Mary, b. June 24, 1717 ; m. Nov. 22, 1738, Benaiah Smith of Eastou : no further record. Ebenezer, b. Aug. 20, 1719. Josiah, b. May 22, 1722. Hannah, b. July 14, 1725; m. Nov. 7, 1743, William Snow, Jr., of Bridgewater, who was b. Aug. 10, 1723, and d. May 14, 1755. She d. about 1774. Three children.

Hannah married second, in 1732, Samuel Hayward of Bridgewater, by whom she had no children

Jerusha Hill, dau. of David and Mary (Buck) Hill, born on 22 June 1753 in Bridgewater, married William Snow 5th, her first cousin, son of William and Hannah (Hill) Snow 4th,[1] on 18 Apr. 1776 in Bridgewater. He was a grandson also of Nathaniel and Hannah (Conant) Hill, and of William and Mary (Washburn) Snow 3rd.
