Biography

Eliza (Hilliard) Shellabarger was an Illinoisan.

Eliza Hilliard was born about 1867. She was the daughter of John Hilliard and Mary A. Snellgrove.[1][2]

Eliza married Sam Shellabarger on 1 January 1890.[citation needed] Their children were:

  1. Tony
  2. John
  3. William[3]
  4. Roy
  5. Ray
  6. Emmett[4]

Her husband passed away in 1918. As the years passed, she continued to maker her home with her son, Emmet, at least through 1940,[5][6][7] though in 1950 she was living as a boarder with Ethel Feltenberger.[8]

She passed away about 1955. [9]

Research Notes

1860 and 1870 censuses show John Shellabarger's wife as Mary A. b. ca. 1834-1835, not Sara.
