Biography

Fanny Rodber Hillier, daughter of William Curry Hillier and his wife, Ann Batten, was baptised at St Nicholas in Rochester on 6 January 1834 [1]and at the 1841 Census was living with her family in Chatham. [2] Her mother died in 1850 and in 1851 the family was living in Rochester. [3] Her father did not survive the year.

At the 1861 Census she was living with her brother, Edward, in the Parsonage at Cardington in Bedfordshire where he was the vicar. [4] At the 1871 she was living with her aunt, Sarah Laetitia Batten aged 76, at 2 Star Hill Villas, Rochester. [5] Ten years later she was still in Rochester, boarding with the Wedderburne family at 2 Park Head Villas. There is no sign of Fanny in the 1891 census but in 1901 she was boarding with Anne Roche at Grove Lodge, the Grove, Rochester.

Fanny died on 20 April 1903 and was buried at St Margaret on 24th. [6]She left £269 6s, her executor being her brother, Edward.
