Biography
Louisa Hillier daughter of William Hillier and his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Woodriff was baptised at St Alphege in Greenwich on 25 September 1787. [1] She married George Stephenson Wintour at St Nicholas in Rochester on 10 February 1820. [2]
George died in 1839 [3] and in 1851 Louisa and her son, Charles were living quietly in Rochester. [4]
Louisa died on 8 September 1868 [5] and was buried at St Margaret in Rochester on 16 September 1868. [6]
" Here lies the body of Mr. William Hillier formerly a purser in the Royal Navy and latterly clerk of the cheque in the victualling department at Chatham Died October 30th 1846 aged 84 years. Also of Louisa Wintour widow of the late George Stephenson Wintour (Commander in the Royal Navy) and daughter of the above, died September 8th 1858 aged 70 years" [7]
