Obadiah was born in 1751 in Newbury, MA, the son of Smith Hills and second wife Rachel Lowe.
He was married twice and had eleven children, all born of his first marriage. He was a pioneer of the comb industry at Leominster, MA.
Obadiah Hills died June 17, 1825 and is buried at Byfield Cemetery, Byfield, MA.
