John was born about 1723. His parentage is unknown. Sometime during 1739, John married a woman named Sarah. It is believed that they had 10 children.
John Hilton and his wife Sarah lived in Baltimore County. The births of their daughters sarah and Mary were recorded in St. John's Parish Register. [1][2]
John made a will 9 Dec 1776 and died died in a riding accident on February 6, 1784. His will was presented to the court in Maryland by his executors 17 Apr 1784. [3] His will provided a mare and colt to his son John, a horse to his son James, a colt each to his sons James and Abraham, and a cow and calf and 3 ewes and lambs to his daughter Priscilla. He left his estate to his wife Sarah who was to divide the estate between their sons John, James, William, Abraham and daughters Elnor and Pations as she seemed proper. [4] The location of his interment is unknown. [5]
