- Family tree done by a Wyant descendant, copy held by Laurie June (Sherman) Bell printed about 2000.
According to that source, the Himebaughs came from Germany with the spelling of Hime or Heinbach. After settling in Pennsylvania, the sons varied the spelling to include Heimbach and Heimbaugh. The next generation in Ohio changed the spelling to Himebaugh which stuck for those who moved on to Michigan.
