Benjamin was born in 1747, the son of Nathaniel Hinckley and Desire Green.[1][2] He was baptized on 24 May 1747, according to the "Greene (Green) family of Plymouth colony", by Richard Henry Greene", 1909, pp. 96-97.[3] His death and burial information are not currently known and needs more research.
This appears to be a popular name and surname in the area at that time, so it is unclear whether various contemporary records in Barnstable and Lee are for this individual. It is also unknown if he had any children. It is quite possible that he died young, or as a child.
According to the Greene family reference (Page 97, Person No. 780), it is possible that Benjamin and/or his brother Nathaniel may have served in the Revolutionary War in various companies. Again, both are common names and it may be problematic to uniquely identify them in the available records.
