People confuse James Carter Hinds with James Cravens Hinds who are related but not the same man. James Carter Hinds was married to Rutha Caroline Hinds and James Cravens Hinds was married to Phoebe C. Holloway. The two men were both born in Tennessee about the same time, have the same first name, the same middle initial and both have wives with the middle name Caroline which makes it rather confusing.
